Liberalism vs freedom -- again!
Scott Johnson of Powerline has produced a blog here that provides food for thought on the great debate we're now having about the size of government and the freedom of the people. Of particular interest are all the links he provides to the writing of George Will and other conservatives and liberals on this subject. He also makes the connection between Woodrow Wilson and the progressive/liberal movement of today as we see it reflected in the Obama Administration. These are interesting times. We are clearly at what is often referred to as an inflection or "tipping" point in history where we will likely take one path or the other into the future. The election this fall and the one to follow it in 1012 are likely to go a long way to determining if we preserve and protect the freedoms and individual rights we have enjoyed since our founding, or be transformed into a people controlled an managed by the "administrative" state we see in Europe, China and elsewhere.
