Bollinger and the MSM

This is an interesting appeal from the leftie President of Columbia U., for government bailout of failing media.  Of particular interests was the comment of one of the readers, ehunter, who has some interesting insights:

Since the 1830s Columbia University has been the home base of
Cultural Marxism. The Institute for Social Research and the “Critical
Theory” project was moved from Moscow in 1923 to Frankfurt, Germany finally to Columbia in 1935. From Columbia
trained Marxist professors went out to every University in the USA.
Using a rigged tenure process which recognized as “scholarly” only
work done in “Critical Theory” these Marxists gained permanent possession
of whole academic departments..training the next generation of Marxists.
Radical Feminism, Colonial Studies, Black Studies, Gay Studies,
Third World Studies, MultiCulturalism, Political Correctness all of it originated at Columbia University and all of it had one goal, destroy traditional America using the institutions of America. The universities,
the poltical parties, the churches, and above all the Free Press.
Just as Columbia disseminated liberal academics it mass produced liberal
journalists. The goal was to use what looked like open minded reporting
and take American values like “tolerance” to its extreme. Special Interest
groups would be created out of thin air, interviewed by liberal journalists
affixed with grievance status and shown how to demand political power.
The resulting fragmentation of the USA would destroy its political will and unity.

In this way Cultural Marxism was a smashing success. Centuries old beliefs, founding ideals of the USA, demographic makeup all of it was relentlessly crushed. Generations were ideologically conditioned without ever knowing it.
All of this was done via the University dominating intellectual discourse
in the USA, and the Left wing press dominating all access to the public discussion Then one day along came the Internet. A new technology that could not be centrally controlled. At least not yet.

Meanwhile back at Colombia University, however, all was not well. Marxists like Dr. Bollinger despair over the loss of the Free Press something that was never “free” to begin with. Either he knows that,or,
he himself is a perfect example of perfect ideological conditioning. Dr.
Bollinger wants the good ol days back, where Big Government funds Big Media
and all of it is trained and put in place by big liberal education, with its hub at Columbia University. Just like the good ol days when idealistic
Lefties, living in a delusional bubble, made believe that “Revolution!”
was coming to overthrow America and they were leading it.

Obama economics at work

Here is a pessimistic outlook with which I personally agree.  An optimistic caveat:  The election this Fall produces a sea change in the political environment and results in a roll back of the Obama "accomplishments" thus far.  But it would have to be a complete rejection to the point Obama and his socialist friends are totally neutered.  It's hard to say how likely that is at this point in time.  The best plan is to play the armadillo role: hunker down and plan for the worst case scenario.

About the value of a Yale degree in Political Science

Sheila Jackson Lee is a vivid, living testimony to the negative effect of affirmative action on our society.  She has represented a district from Texas in the US Congress for many years now.  A 1972 graduate of Yale and a graduate later of the University of Virginia Law school she's a knee-jerk liberal who manages to get a lot of face time on TV news and in print media because she is black and supposedly well educated and more to the point, a flaming liberal in a conservative state.  Isn't gerrymandering wonderful?  In the video here Ms Lee manages to create two new states, North Vietnam and South Vietnam and to tell us all how wonderful that they are able to live next door to one another in peace and happiness.  And on and on, this video is tells us a lot about what is wrong in our country, starting with affirmative action and the absurd gerrymandering that assures a certifiable moron like this a seat in the US House of Representatives where she has a voice and hand in making policy and laws the rest of us have to live under.  Can we survive a system that produces this caliber of leadership?  It might be a good idea for Yale and the U of Virginia Law School get together and revoke those degrees the conferred on this woman in order not to further besmirch their reputations as elite schools.
