Victor Davis Hanson on Obama

This Hanson column catalogues the broken promises, missteps and outright lies fobbed off on the American public by Obama and his administration over the past three years. What is sad about all this is the absence of any media oversight over the activities of these Chicago crooks. The media double standard is painfully in play.  The longer term result of this failure of the media as a watchdog is the corruption of the entire political process, which has been going on since the MSM became an arm of the Democrat Party dating back to CBS's Walter Cronkite's personal views on the Vietnam War shortly after the Tet offensive in the late '60's. The Nixon Watergate fiasco was the makings of stardom for investigative reporting, which led to bylines for reporters in newspapers for all manner of stories, which in turn led to reporter political bias in 'news' stories that previously stuck to the who, what, when, where formula in which the reader is left to come to his own conclusions based on the facts.  Something called "narrative" is now infused into every news story leaving it up to the reader to be wary of any bias brought to the reporting by the reporter or media.  An example of 'narrative' and reporting bias is the recent NBC coverage of the Trayvon Martin tragic killing story in Sanford, Florida.  As we now know the CBS producer of that story left out a question by the dispatcher addressed to the neighborhood watch person, Zimmerman,  the absence of which produced the impression the shooting was racially motivated. It wasn't, and yet that impression fit CBS's southern redneck, rascist image of the shooter they wanted to convey.  Outrage from conservative media, who had the same transcript and recognized the doctoring by CBS, caused this corrupt media outlet to have to fire the producer.  Shades of Dan Rather, complicit in a similar doctoring of the news to fit his dislike of George Bush.  That case was broken and Rather fired as a result  of exposure by conservative bloggers at Powerline.com.  What makes the biases and corruption of the mass media CBS, ABC, and NBC so disheartening is that they are being fed to the public over airways owned by all the people.  While under the supervision of a federal commission (FCC) they are supposed to be factual and honest in their reporting. They clearly are not.  Again, a federal agency that fails to carry out its mission.
