IF TRUE, WHATCH OUT BELOW: We are educating our downfall as a nation. Bring back schooling in the trades to stop producing useless idiots with BA degrees in gender studies, africana, etc.
IT WAS A BETTER SYSTEM: But alas, there were no votes to be had in this volunteerism.
SOUNDS LIKE A MUST READ: It's been a long, slippery slope since the Revolution.
TRUMP VS. HILARY: Wait until Trump brings up the name of Jeff Epstein. Could get ugly for her and Billy Bob.
PROOF POSITIVE: Oh yeah, but it creates all this inequality. Can't have that if you're a real socialist now, can you?
THE ADMINISTRATIVE STATE: It dates as far back as WWI and the Progressive movement he promoted. FDR put the movement on steroids, WWII solidified it and LBJ crowned it.
ONLY CLINTONS COULD GET AWAY WITH THIS: Anyone else would be behind bars. No speculating this is anything other than a tax free, influence peddling political organization.
ANALYZING CRIME STATS: Heather MacDonald is THE go to writer on crime in the US. By far. What's needed is more conservative city newspapers in the country to offset the claptrap we now get from just about all major newspapers in the country -- excepting WSJ and the Boston Herald.
MAYBE THE REAL STORY AT LAST: The misinformation and deflection by deems been going on far too long.
YOGHURT MADE IN A PRESSURE COOKER: Very simple and very easy. Cowbell bags are a big improvement over cheesecloth for straining.

ONE OF HAYWARD'S BEST COLUMNS: A very good explanation of a liberal's conundrum.
THIS FROM BRENDA JOHNSON: This is truly a remarkable clip and a wonderful Christmas present.
OLD FASHIONED VALUES: This all sounds like my father who was always grateful for what he, and we, had in life. Afraid the entitlement generation expects all they have and enjoy, and that it just appeared because it was supposed to appear. We'll see about all that soon enough.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: The longest lasting Democracy has been ours, can it survive???
A MAJOR RECONFIGURING? a Musolini or worse on the horizon?
A PARTIAL LIST OF O'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTS: As stipulated, this is the tip of this iceberg,
MAYBE THERE'S A BIGGER PLAN: But, somehow I doubt it. Ryan may very well be another captive of the inside the beltway crowd. Kinda like the idea he's simply buying time with this business-as-usual budget, but then again I don't think he's ever been a constitution-driven conservative a la Cruz or Ron and Rand Paul. If so he's hidden that side of himself for a long time. It may be his speakership is just a continuation of the one party regime.
BOSS TWEED AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY OF TODAY: The similarities are remarkable. Substitute public, city, state and federal unions for Boss Tweed's Tammany Hall and we have the perfect storm leading to uncontrollable debt to finance all the sweetheart deals. This will come to a similar end.

WHAT IS INFLATION?: It is policy and the printing of money. So says Mises.
MORE OF THE SAME:Business as usual with Ryan as Speaker. Disappointing.
FROM ALJAZEERA: Take a hard look at your Welfare State policies. An effort to smear US, but how many of then 45 countries listed have millions of illegal immigrants and a huge dependency underclass like the US?
CRUZ IS NO AUSTRIAN: Doesn't seem to understand the Fed's role all that much. But then few politicians do.
UNHAPPY WITH PAUL RYAN'S BUDGET CAPITULATION? Try this post by Glenn Reynolds back in 2006. Sometimes it hurts to be right. As Glenn identifies, Republicans insist on being Dems lite and they keep losing the WH because their base is disgusted and doesn't show up at the voting booth. Trump is hardly the answer. He's just a buffoon who represents the "disgust" vote of the base and that of some hard-assed dim bulbs. Cruz is the only Constitution-driven conservative in the bunch. Rubio is a programmed conservative who would bend the Constitution like dems always do only maybe only occasionally. But he may be more acceptable to the independents. Between Cruz and Rubio the choice seems to come down to either turning out an energized, motivated base on election day, or risking that approach in exchange for an appeal to independents. Reagan was a principled conservative who by dint of a winning personality managed to both energize the base and appeal to independents. Cruz surely does not have Reagan's personal appeal. Kinda a conundrum at this point.
AH, A REAL PARODY: Eoow. That hurts
THREE CHOICES FOR GOP: The choices are narrowed to three and the differences are stark.
OBSEQUIOUS MEDIA: Fallow & camp; co. are hopelessly in love.
CURRENT DAY DISCUSSION OF MISES, ET.AL.: Comments section entertaining.
GREAT VIDEO ON MEDIEVAL EUROPE: BBC series as only the Brits seem to produce.
YALE MAKES IT BACK INTO THE NEWS CYCLE: Of course the Law School, which has produced just about every Democrat Party hack except for those produced by HLS since Bill Clinton, manages to foul the air again through Bruce Ackerman who's an off-the-charts lefty.

WHEN DO YOU HEAR AN IVY LEAGUE STORY THAT ISN’T AN EMBARRASSMENT THESE DAYS? Sadness, shame and blame at Yale over First Amendment repeal video.
Members of the Yale University community on Thursday responded with a mix of embarrassment, sadness and literal disbelief to a viral video showing students there freely signing a petition that calls for the repeal of the First Amendment.
“It numbs the mind that dozens of Yale students could sign a petition to revoke the First Amendment,” freshman Grant Richardson wrote FoxNews.com in an email. “Besides the fact that the First Amendment lists the most fundamentally important rights we hold as Americans, it is rather embarrassing to think Yalies could not see the irony that they were petitioning away – their right to petition.”
Richardson, responding to a video by filmmaker and satirist Ami Horowitz that first aired on FoxNews.com Wednesday, said he hopes the actions of those shown in the video don’t reflect on him or many other students.
“It is mortifying to think that family, friends and future employers could equate such behaviors to Yale, and by extension, to me,” he said. “I can only hope that my fellow students were answering in jest.”
A member of the Yale Law School faculty also responded to the video, and wasn’t happy with what he saw.
“It’s a sad commentary on the present state of public opinion,” said Professor Bruce Ackerman. . . .
But Ackerman said he also felt the First Amendment debate wasn’t as important as more pressing issues.
“It does not remotely pose the same danger as the support of all Republican candidates, with the exception of Rand Paul, for President Obama’s unilateral war against ISIS in plain violation of the Constitution,” Ackerman said.
That part of the professor’s response didn’t sit well with Horowitz.
“This is exactly part of the problem. Why would Yale students, or university students anywhere in this country, feel a fidelity to our fundamental beliefs, when their professors try to shoehorn in anti-American sentiment at every opportunity?” he told FoxNews.com.
Yale Law School was a center of hardcore support for free expression once. But that was when leftists were the ones speaking. Now that leftists are the ones doing the persecuting, Yale Law isn’t nearly as strong.

A DOSE OF REALITY:
IS THIS WHERE WE ARE? I don't agree with the basic premise here but he's right about the division in the country.
IT'S BECOME A JOKE: You have to ask yourself when does it all stop.
OBAMA'S MANY TRANSGRESSIONS: They are many.
PINOT AND OREGON: THE Willamette Valley and the pinot grape.
CHRISTOPHER BUCKLEY'S LATEST: Could make an interesting read.
WELFARE PROGRAMS: Victims of bureaucratic malfeasance?
A TRULY REMARKABLE ARTIST: NYTimes should stick to reviews, get out of politics.
PRETTY FUNNY: Saucy, irreverent, some even hysterical.
THIS STORY WILL NEVER MAKE MSM: Because it doesn't fit the racial narrative.
WONDER WHERE THIS CASE LEADS: Political correctness kills.
POLITICAL SCIENCE, OXYMORON?: "Social Justice" needs defining.
PERFECT EXAMPLE OF PC: Thought control(manipulation by libs) on display, ugly as usual.
MSM AND CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES: And to think we're financially supporting this kind of behavior.
CAIR IS A FRONT GROUP: And yet the MSM largely ignores it.

ANOTHER PROFESSOR TO READ: And he's a student of Hayek.
IT'S PLAUSIBLE: There has to be an answer and a reason for his at ions. Either he's incompetent or in over his head, or he's calculating and driven by a perverse ideology. I'm betting it's the former.
FARCICAL COLLEGE PROTESTS: They are making the case for segregation.
RUNAWAY PROSECUTORS: This case is a must watch.
OH MY: Remember the burning at the German University library? To protect their cushy jobs, most professors caved to the Nazi youth's demands for what? Ridding themselves of the establishment? Cleaning out the old for something, whatever, new? Making way for the egalitarianism of the university students? The problem is most professors and administrators are simply older students or examples of arrested development.
REDUCING SIZE OF GOVERNMENT: What phased-in libertarianism looks like.
DIVERSITY AMONG ACADEMICS: Clearly, not so much.
WORTH UNDERSTANDING: How real wealth is created.
IT'S ALL SO MADDENING: The liberals support this madness. We need a revolution.

POSTED ON DECEMBER 1, 2015 BY STEVEN HAYWARD IN ACADEMIC LEFT, HIGHER EDUCATION,POLITICAL CORRECTNESS?
A MODEST PROPOSAL FOR PRINCETON AND YALE
Richard Epstein reviews the sorry record of Woodrow Wilson over at Ricochet, but concludes correctly that it is a stupid idea to start stripping names off of university programs. But if the prissy Princetonians insist on renaming the Woodrow Wilson School for Public Affairs, here’s a modest suggestion: Rename it for Warren Harding!
Harding was the anti-Wilson in all of the ways the campus protesters could want. He pardoned most of the political dissenters Woodrow Wilson had jailed during World War I, especially the socialist firebrand Eugene Debs, whom Harding then invited to the White House, saying afterward that he rather liked Debs. He also proposed civil rights protection for blacks, in a speech in Birmingham, Alabama, that drew boos and jeers from the mostly Democratic audience. “I want to see the time come when black men will regard themselves as full participants in the benefits and duties of American citizens,” Harding said in the speech; “We cannot go on, as we have gone on for more than half a century, with one great section of our population . . . set off from real contribution to solving national issues, because of a division on race lines.” Harding also urged Congress “to wipe out the stain of barbaric lynching from the banners of a free and orderly, representative democracy,” but southern Democrats made sure this suggestion died swiftly in Congress.
His support for advancing the interests of black Americans went beyond mere words. He appointed blacks to senior positions in the Departments of Labor and Interior, lobbied his entire cabinet to more blacks, and over 100 blacks to lower ranked administration posts—a high number for the time, especially after Wilson had purged blacks from government jobs and bestowing permanent civil service status of their white replacements a few years before.
So how about it Princeton?
Second, if Yale can’t abide having one of its residential colleges named for John C. Calhoun, then the obvious thing to do is to rename it for Calvin Coolidge—one of the pre-eminent defenders of the document Calhoun disliked and repudiated—the Declaration of Independence. Of if this is too bold for Yale, then Amherst, currently in knots aver the fact that its namesake, Lord Jeffery Amherst, was politically incorrect, could rename itself for its most distinguished alumni.
Nah—I’m quite sure the only thing worse that having a college named for a racist-imperialist is having it named for a Republican. That’s would be too much diversity to tolerate.

FREE SPEECH ON CAMPUSES: The little fascists can't abide dissent, it might overturn their phony constructs.
THE ILL EFFECTS OF CODDLING: Liberals are the problem. Their world view is flawed.
SOCIALISM AND ARMAGEDDON GO TOGETHER: Crony capitalism is rampant because for many it works, for a while anyway. Add this to the toxic mess. Also, over 100 and 50 years ago Sumner expressed the issue well:
GLOBAL WARMING CHARTS:When does this farce stop?
IT'S ALL ECONOMICS, STUPID: Ah, those pesky regulations again. The beat goes on and on and the innovation goes down and down, see here.
IT'S A POLITICAL RUSE FOR GOD'S SAKE: This was really quite obvious when you think about it.
THE CASE FOR CRUZ: It's a strong case. He is a Constitutional conservative.
ENVY IS A DEADLY SIN: And at the root of all economic equal outcome arguments, period.
DROP DEAD FUNNY: Hopefully not completely far-fetched.
THEY SIMPLY DON'T CARE: These clowns perfected the art of free-loading off taxpayers.

William Graham Sumner: The State As A Means to Theft
Flashback to the most influential professor in America between 1865 and 1900, William Graham Sumner:
History is only a tiresome repetition of one story. Persons and classes have sought to win possession of the power of the state in order to live luxuriously out of the earnings of others. Autocracies, aristocracies, theocracies, and all other organizations for holding political power, have exhibited only the same line of action. It is the extreme of political error to say that if political power is only taken away from generals, nobles, priests, millionaires, and scholars, and given to artisans and peasants, these latter may be trusted to do only right and justice, and never to abuse the power; that they will repress all excess in others, and commit none themselves. They will commit abuse, if they can and dare, just as others have done. The reason for the excesses of the old governing classes lies in the vices and passions of human nature — cupidity, lust, vindictiveness, ambition, and vanity. These vices are confined to no nation, class, or age. They appear in the church, the academy, the workshop, and the hovel, as well as in the army or the palace. They have appeared in autocracies, aristocracies, theocracies, democracies, and ochlocracies, all alike. The only thing which has ever restrained these vices of human nature in those who had political power is law sustained by impersonal institutions. If political power be given to the masses who have not hitherto had it, nothing will stop them from abusing it but laws and institutions. To say that a popular government cannot be paternal is to give it a charter that it can do no wrong. The trouble is that a democratic government is in greater danger than any other of becoming paternal, for it is sure of itself, and ready to undertake anything, and its power is excessive and pitiless against dissentients. It appears Professor Sumner understood human nature in politics much better than today's political scientists.

NEEDING AN ALTERNATIVE: Hillsdale is the model.
YOUTHFUL GROWNUPS AT PRINCETON: This is a lot more like it. There is still hope. How about admitting more of these young people and less of the rabble rousers.
A CONSPIRACY VIEW OF THE TRUMP EFFECT: And not a little uncomfortable truth to some of this.
DESCRIBES THE ONE PERFECTLY:
P. Maureen Scott is an ardent American patriot who was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and retired to Richmond, VA, in 2000. Free from the nine-to-five grind of writing for employers and clients, she began writing political commentary to please herself and express her convictions. The accomplishment of which she is most proud is her volunteer work at an Army base where she looked into the eyes and hearts of the service members who protect our country.
Our Pledge of Allegiance, a military band playing the National Anthem, and the wisdom of our Founding Fathers, inspire her passion and views. Her life is guided by a firm belief that truth is the most important virtue, and that God knows what He is doing with her.

Barack Obama appears to be a tormented man filled with resentment, anger, and disdain for anyone of an opinion or view other than his. He acts in the most hateful, spiteful, malevolent, vindictive ways in order to manipulate and maintain power and control over others.
|
Perhaps, because, as a child, he grew up harboring an abiding bitterness toward the U.S. That was instilled in him by his family and mentors…it seems to have never left
him.
him.
It is not the color of his skin that is a problem in America . Rather it is the blackness that fills his soul and the hollowness in his heart where there should be abiding pride and love for this country.
Think: Have we ever heard Obama speak lovingly of the U.S. Or its people, with deep appreciation and genuine respect for our history, our customs, our sufferings and our blessings? Has he ever revealed that, like most patriotic Americans, he gets "goose bumps" when a band plays "The Star Spangled Banner," (no he gets goose bumps when he hears the ''Muslim call to prayer" (his words) or sheds a tear when he hears a beautiful rendition of " America the Beautiful?" Does his heart burst with pride when millions of American flags wave on a National holiday - or someone plays "taps" on a trumpet? Has he ever shared the admiration of the military, as we as lovers of those who keep us free, feel when soldiers march by? It is doubtful because Obama did not grow up sharing our experiences or our values. He did not sit at the knee of a Grandfather or Uncle who showed us his medals and told us about the bravery of his fellow troops as they tramped through foreign lands to keep us free. He didn't have grandparents who told stories of suffering and then coming to America , penniless, and the opportunities they had for building a business and life for their children.
Away from this country as a young child, Obama didn't delight in being part of America and its greatness. He wasn't singing our patriotic songs in kindergarten, or standing on the roadside for a holiday parade and eating a hot dog, or lighting sparklers around a campfire on July 4th as fireworks exploded over head, or placing flags on the grave sites of fallen and beloved American heroes.
Rather he was separated from all of these experiences and doesn't really understand us and what it means to be an American. He is void of the basic emotions that most feel regarding this country and insensitive to the instinctive pride we have in our national heritage. His opinions were formed by those who either envied us or wanted him to devalue the United States and the traditions and patriotism that unites us.
He has never given a speech that is filled with calm, reassuring, complimentary, heartfelt
statements about all the people in the U.S. Or one that inspires us to be better and grateful and proud that in a short time our country became a leader, and a protector of
many. Quite the contrary, his speeches always degenerate into mocking, ridiculing tirades as he faults our achievements as well as any critics or opposition for the sake of a laugh, or to bolster his ego. He uses his Office to threaten and create fear while demeaning and degrading any American who opposes his policies and actions. A secure leader, who has noble self-esteem and not false confidence, refrains from showing such dread of critics and displaying a cocky, haughty attitude.

Mostly, his time seems to be spent causing dissension, unrest, and anxiety among the people of America , rather than uniting us (even though he was presented to us as the "Great Uniter"). He creates chaos for the sake of keeping people separated, envious, aggrieved and ready to argue. Under his leadership Americans have been kept on edge,
rather than in a state of comfort and security. He incites people to be aggressive toward, and disrespectful of, those of differing opinions. And through such behavior, Obama has
lowered the standards for self-control and mature restraint to the level of street-fighting gangs, when he should be raising the bar for people to strive toward becoming more considerate, tolerant, self-disciplined, self-sustaining, and self-assured.
- Never has there been a leader of this great land who used such tactics to harm and hurt the people and this country.

Not a day goes by that he is not attempting to defy our laws, remove our rights, over-ride established procedures, install controversial appointees, enact divisive mandates, and assert a dictatorial form of government.
- Never has there been a leader of this great land who used such tactics to harm and hurt the people and this country.
-Never have we had a President who spoke with a caustic, evil tongue against the citizenry rather than present himself as a soothing, calming and trustworthy force.
-Never, in this country, have we experienced how much stress one man can cause a nation of people - on a daily basis!
Obama has promoted the degeneration of peace, civility, and quality of cooperation between us. He thrives on tearing us down, rather than building us up. He is the Architect of the decline of America , and the epitome of a Demagogue.
